Foundational Guardians

Private Correspondence

This page is reserved for Foundational Guardians recorded in connection with compositions from the Foundational Era.

With the Foundational Register now sealed, the Maison has entered a new chapter, organised around a more selective framework for its issuances, Cultural Chambers, Private Correspondence and the Geneva Register.

The following sections set out the principles of this framework. Foundational Guardians may also update the territories and fields associated with their record, allowing future invitations, presentations and issuances to be considered with greater relevance and precision.

The Foundational Circle

Throughout the Foundational Era, the Maison progressively established an international circle of Guardians, correspondents, families and institutions around the fields that have shaped its work.

Horology, motoring, aviation, architecture, navigation, fine craftsmanship, family history and institutional heritage brought individuals from distinct spheres into correspondence with the Maison.

The sealing of the Foundational Register established this circle as the private sphere of the Maison.

New compositions are no longer maintained in general public circulation. Their circulation now takes place within the private sphere of the Maison, through recorded Guardians, recognised introductions, Private Correspondence and Cultural Chambers constituted around particular territories, subjects and fields of resonance.

This framework preserves coherence between the works issued, the people to whom they are presented and the settings in which these encounters take place.

Foundational Guardians remain at the origin of this circle.

Foundational Guardian Status

The recorded custody of a composition from the Foundational Era establishes a continuing position within the historical record of the Maison.

Foundational Guardians retain access to the issuance correspondence of Atelier WOCS and may be considered for new compositions, private presentations, Cultural Chambers and certain sequences reserved specifically for Foundational Guardians.

The Foundational Register remains permanently sealed at five hundred positions.

Any issuance subsequently attributed to a Foundational Guardian is recorded in continuity with their founding position, extending the body of compositions held in their custody.

New Issuances

New compositions are issued through private sequences.

Each composition is governed by a defined and limited issuance structure. Depending on its nature, this may range from a unique issuance to a lifetime maximum of thirty issuances.

Certain sequences may be reserved in their entirety for Foundational Guardians. Others may be introduced through Private Correspondence, recognised introductions, institutional relationships or to Guardians recorded in the Geneva Register.

The Maison determines when a composition is presented and the individuals for whom an attribution may be considered.

Cultural Chambers

Cultural Chambers form part of the international chapter now opened by the Maison.

They are constituted around a particular geography, body of compositions or field of resonance, and generally bring together a private circle of approximately fifteen to twenty people.

Each Chamber is composed individually.

The significance of the works, the character of the setting, the affinities of those invited and the resonance among them are considered together in forming each Chamber.

A Foundational Guardian may accordingly be considered for different Chambers according to geography, personal affinities, compositions already under their custody and the fields associated with their position.

Private Correspondence

Private Correspondence allows the Maison to maintain this relationship with greater precision.

By updating the territories and fields of greatest relevance to each Guardian, the Maison can consider future Chambers, private ceremonies, presentations and issuances with greater coherence.

This update does not constitute an application for access.

It extends the correspondence already attached to the Guardian's position within the Foundational Register.

The Geneva Register

The Geneva Register comprises two hundred positions intended for the entry of new Guardians into the next chapter of the Maison.

Entry is not automatically linked to an acquisition, and a position cannot be purchased directly.

The Maison determines when an individual may be considered for entry into the Geneva Register and when one or more positions may be recorded.

Foundational Guardians retain their distinct position within the Foundational Register. Any new issuance attributed to them is recorded in continuity with that founding position.

By virtue of their Foundational status, Guardians may also recommend individuals from their own circles for consideration for a position in the Geneva Register.

Where circumstances warrant, a Foundational Guardian may also be invited to witness the entry of a new Guardian into the Geneva Register.

A recommendation confers no entitlement to entry and remains subject to the consideration of the Maison.

Continuity of the Foundational Record

The position recorded in the Foundational Register remains attached to the composition or compositions held in the Guardian's custody.

Subsequent issuances attributed to the same Guardian extend and enrich that position without altering its Foundational character.

Where a composition is transmitted within a family, the continuity of the Foundational Register may accompany that transmission.

The Maison must then be informed so that the record may be updated and continuity of custody preserved.

Correspondence Preferences

The form below allows the Secretariat of Correspondence to identify more precisely the territories, subjects and cultural fields of greatest significance to you.

These indications will assist the Maison in considering future invitations, Cultural Chambers, private presentations and issuances that may resonate with your Foundational position.

Your correspondence will be retained by the Secretariat alongside your existing Foundational Guardian record and considered when future Cultural Chambers, private ceremonies and issuances present particular relevance.
